Game collections
The Evercade catalogue is a great thing. If there were never anymore cartridges released the machine would still be worth it for all we have so far. But that isn't all we have....
The image above was posted on Twitter not that long ago, and its given us a glimpse of what to expected in the future. This month both the Jaleco Collection I, and Piko collection II have been released, and in May we have the release of Indie Heroes collection I, and Team 17's Worms collection I.
Though there is no set date, here's hoping for a summer release for the Codemasters collection I. It has a fantastic line up of games and is definitely one of the cartridges I'm most looking forward too:
01. Sensible Soccer - International Edition
02. Cannon Fodder
03. Big Nose Freaks Out
04. Tennis All-Stars
05. Mega-Lo- Mania
06. Big Nose the Caveman
07. Cosmic Spacehead
08. Psycho Pinball
09. Bee 52
10. MiG 29 - Soviet Fighter
11. The Ultimate Stuntman
12. Super Skidmarks
13. Boomerang Kid
14. Linus Spacehead
15. CJ's Elephant Antics
16. F-16 Renegade
17. Stunt Buggie
In the Autumn we are getting the Intellivision collection I. There will be 12 games included in the first set, and we only know of three of them: Frog Bog; Night Stalker; and Astromash. Hopefully we will find out more soon.
Then there's the release of the Evercade VS?! I wonder what it is? I have a few thoughts about this below. Beyond the VS we have another 4 as yet unnamed collections being released, so, there's a lot to look forward to this year, let alone what comes beyond.
Evercade VS
So many thoughts about the VS. It could be something as simple as a device that connects two Evercades together to play 2 player games. But it could be a lot more then that, what if it's a home console to play the cartridges on, and with two controllers.
You could take this thought a step further, and though I know this is not the case, wouldn't it be cool if they then made branded retro controllers, like paddles to play some of the old Atari games, replica NES, SNES and Megadrive controls. I know, I know. Nice thought though.
The 6 Unknown Collections
The above image was posted this week on Twitter with the promise that we will have another reveal next week. I have no idea going forward what the remaining 6 are. But it's fun to think about what we'd like them to be. What would my fantasy collection be if I could have anything I wanted? As we have already had second helpings of Namco, Atari, Lynx, Interplay, and Piko, it is not too much of an assumption that all cartridges labelled 1 will at some point at least get a 2. The mystery cartridges could therefore be the 2nd or 3rd collection of anything we have had before. Could we be getting a second Codemasters set so soon?
We are venturing into fantasy territory for the rest of the post now. The following are my dream collections that would - including the games we've already had - make the Evercade my favourite console ever - and yes the following are mostly from the amiga era:
1. Team 17 Collection

Alien breed special edition
Alien breed 2
Alien breed tower assault
Project X Special Edition 92

By next Saturday we should have heard about the new collection so I'll probably be posting some comments then, in the meantime, tomorrow's post is all about the Evercade 06: Namco Museum Collection II. Until next time my friends, be seeing you x
