Evercade: Ranking the first 10 Cartridges

Now that we've finally gone through the first 10 Evercade cartridges, the next thing to do it seems, is to rank them against each other. This ended up being much trickier than I first thought, and in the end I surprised myself with the eventual order I ended up with. Take a look below:
(note: this ranking only includes the first 10 cartridges, and not 11 - 16!)

10. Interplay Collection II
Why? Though there are great games in this collection there is only six, which is absolutely fine in itself, but stacked up against the other collections there just isn't as much variety of games to play.

09. Interplay Collection I
Just beats the Interplay Collection II due to the inclusion of Earthworm Jim, Battle Chess and Titan. But the reason its number 9 is the same as the other Interplay Collection, there's just not as many games to play. Still a great collection though.

08. Data East Collection I
A nice set of ten games. I loved Midnight Resistance, Side Pocket, Magic Drop II, and Joe and Mac II.

07. Technos Collection I
How can you go wrong with a cartridge jam packed with Double Dragon goodness? You cannot! My most recently played cartridge, River City Ransom was a fantastic surprise!

06. Atari Collection I
Both Atari collections have given me a lot of joy and sparked memories of my youth with my first ever game system. With 20 games to choose from its hard to fault these lovely sets. I'm always here for Asteroids!

05. Atari Collection II
As stated above what a great trip down memory lane and nice big selection of games to play. I especially loved the 7800 variations of some of the games. And I can never get enough of Real Sports: Tennis!

04. Namco Museum Collection I
You would think this would be higher as it has both Dig Dug and Pac Man within. But the following Cartridges are top tier quality so even with two of my favourite games of all time on it still wasn't enough to put it in the top three.

03. Mega Cats Studio Collection I
What an amazing trip this cartridge was, all unknown experiences before I slotted it into the Evercade. A great choice of 10 games, but three of them were enough to place this cart in the top three, and those were: Multidude; Old Towers; and Tenzer. I can never get enough of these three games, absolutely adore them!

02. Namco Museum Collection II
I never thought I'd rate the Namco collection higher that didn't have Pac man and Dig Dug, but here we are. This collection is just so much fun, there are so many great titles you'll keep wanting to come back to incl: Splatterhouse 3; Dig Dug 2; Galaga; Burning force; Phelois and Dragon Spirit.

01. Piko Interactive Collection I
But of course could it be any other in the end? Piko I not only has a full roster of 20 titles, many of them a deep time eating games including a couple of decent length RPG's. Apart from the RPG's there is a great variety of games to suit any tastes, it really is a bumper bag of goodies, and easily the best value cartridge in initial 10 cartridges.

Now we've been through and ranked the first ten cartridges and all the games within, it is time to move on to Evercade Cartridge 11: Xeno Crisis / Tanglewood Collection. I can't wait. Until next time my friends, be seeing you x
