My Top Game Of The Decade

Hello my friends and finally we come to it, my top game of the last Decade.

Final Fantasy XV Universe
There is more to Final Fantasy XV then just the game. The whole universe is spread out other multiple products and media. Not only do we have the game, we also have a prequel movie Kingsglaive, and two Anime's Brotherhood and Episode Ardyn Prequel.

After the initial release of the main game they decided they weren't quite finished with it, and for the next two years they kept adding more and more. More scenes to the main game, extra episodes centring around each of the main characters, new vehicles and side quests and the ability to switch between controllable characters while fighting. They even expanded the end portion of the game, turning an enjoyable wonder through Insomnia into a truly epic finale filled with new battles and fantastic story additions.

So you see it was very hard to leave and move on to a new game when the game never seem to end.

Another reason it was hard to leave the game was the gorgeous open world of Eos you get to explore in. It really is a beautiful varied land you can pretty much go anywhere on foot, by car or riding the ever faithful Chocobos. (Yes owning a Chocobo farm really is my dream job!)

The main cities and towns are a delight to discover with all their little details and differences from each other. The dungeons are just as interesting and take on a more physical role then in previous entries, making them a genuine joy to explore.

The main reason I love the game so damn much though, is the characters. Rarely have I become so attached to a group of characters, and the relationships they have between each other. (One of the other games being Death Stranding) I especially loved the relationship between Ravus and his sister Luna, and how it motivated almost every single move he made throughout the story. Crikey did I love that dude. Of course I also have to make special mention to one of my favourite video game dogs of all time, Umbra. Such a good boy!

Here is a tribute music video I made for FFXV, it's a musical visual tour of the story of FFXV in about 20mins. It's made up of smaller pieces I've created over the last couple of years so if you've been on my Youtube channel before you may notice bits of it, but some of it is new. Enjoy x x

Music Video: Memories of FFXV - Road to Insomnia

Yes, FFXV has faults, quite a few. But that doesn't matter when it has a heart as big as it does. I can't even put my finger on what exactly it is that makes this game feel so special to me. Maybe it's one magic ingredient I don't even realise is there, maybe it's the weird way in which it came to be, or maybe it's just everything. Whatever the reason it has burrowed deep into my heart and I feel it will probably never leave. But I'm fine with that.

Thank you for following me the last couple of weeks as I looked back on my favourite games of the last decade. Now that's all out the way I wonder what exciting things are ahead in 2020?

Until next time my friends, be seeing you x x
