Dead and Stranded - Episodes 6 and 7

Hello again friends and welcome to another Dead and Stranded.
Today we will be looking at two episodes. There is a good reason, though episode 6 is called Deadman, it's not until the end of the following episode that you finally get a full idea of the wonderful character that he is.

Episode Six: Deadman
Episode Seven: Clifford

Dead Stranding - Episode Six: DeadMan

The plot thickens, there is more going on then we originally thought. Well, that's hardly a surprise if you've ever played through the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

If you weren't already in love with BB, surely the moment BB does the actions of "see no evil, hear no evil, say no evil" is enough to tip you over.

I absolutely adored the shower scene, Deadman completely ignores Sam's condition and get up close and personal, Norman Reedus' reactions here are priceless. Also, what's all these shenanigans about Bridget?

Being without BB while I journeyed through the snowy mountains was fekking terrifying. I had to listen intently for whispers, it was the only way I knew if BT's were about. Thankfully by this point I had the cuffs to cut BT cords. Even if you can't see one, being close enough to one brings up an icon to let you cut. It's still nerve wrecking though.

Because of how large these sections of the game were, I had cut almost all the journeying out between scenes to keep the episode to a manageable length.

Dead Stranding - Episode Seven: Clifford

Seeing Deadman trapped in the war zone along with Sam was a brilliant touch. I love how Deadman is clearly not only getting close to Sam, but BB as well. There are a lot of sweat touches throughout the two stories that show these growing bonds.

A Soulless Meat Puppet
We finally learn where Deadman got his name from, he is made up of pieces of the dead. I really felt for him when he called himself Frankenstein's Monster, a soulless meat puppet. And again the music during his explanation was perfect. The scene made me love the character even more, but it's getting harder not to love all these character's, isn't it?

Also, BB now has a name, Lou. It makes my heart cry a little, I wont lie. But guys, we have to remember - BB is just a tool. What ever you do, don't get attached!

Sam and Lucy
It's sad to hear about Sam's past, it fits with why he walked away from everyone and why he's named BB Lou. Poor Sam. I believe there are more files hidden away in the game regarding his wife Lucy, and if I manage to unlock them before the end of this series I will of course talk about it.

Warzone
More Mads action, and can I just say I'm kind of living for these smoking scenes. Joking aside, the area we had to fight in this time was so different from the one before, WWII I think. Though I freaked out just as much as before, this time I was a bit more prepared and the ruined city helped me play more strategically.

John
I don't need to say anymore, do I?

Heartman
At the end of the episode we get a brief introduction to Heartman. For many he is the best character in Death Stranding. He certainly is a fantastic creation, and someone I hope you look forward to meeting next time. He has a tale as interesting and heartbreaking as Fragile and Mama's.

Until next time friends, be seeing you x x
