Hello my friends and welcome to episode 8 of Dead and Stranded. This episode you get to meet one of the most interesting characters in Death Stranding and a fan favourite, Heartman.
Again I had to split the episode into two parts and remove a lot of the journeying in between to fit it all in
Episode 8: Heartman (Part one)
His heart stops every 21 minutes,
He spends 3 minutes on the beach and then returns
60 deaths and 60 resurrections per day
60 chances for Heatman to search the beach for his family.
Heartman's visit to the beach count to date: 218,549
Heartman repeatedly inducing cardiac arrest everyday took it's toll, not only did it deform his heart, but now he cant stop it happening every 21 mins. He just wants to find his family and die with them.
I loved the imagery on the beach with all the people who died in the voidouts slowly walking into the sea, and the old lady was a brilliant.
For such a sad tale, Heartman has one of the funnest episodes. There are some great visual gags with the countdown and Heartman liking everything. Plus his room is a treasure trove of memorabilia.
Crikey, they really threw a lot of information at us in this episode, lets take a look at it again...
There were 5 extinction level events, each seems to be connection to what Heartman calls an Extinction Entity
There were Trilobites, Ammonites, a Dinosaur, a Mammoth and the Iceman, all frozen in time and all with what looks like an umbilical cord (a strand) that connects them to the beach.
Heartman believes the world is in the middle of the sixth extinction. Because the umbilical cord came from Bridget Strands, he believes she is an Extinction Entity. But as she has died, they wonder if her daughter Amelie could also be one. Maybe that's why Higgs is so obsessed with finding her.

Sam has made it all the way west to the end of the line, Edge Knot city. Once he links up the final terminal, all he has to do is find Amelia and go home.
But we have a certain someone standing in his way, Higgs! It's time for their final face off. But is it the end of Sam's journey? Join me next week to find out.
